Olbermann on the Clinton Rules

6 05 2008

I’ve stopped watching the Corporate Owned Media except for Olbermann.  The straw that broke the camel’s back for me was the fact that they were harping on the whole Jeremiah Wright “guilt-by-association” angle.  Meanwhile, Johnny Mac went out and sought the endorsement of John Hagee, and there is virtually no airtime on this.  Frank Rich in his most recent NYT column, The All-White Elephant In the Room, nails it on the head:

I wonder if Mr. McCain would have given the same answer had Mr. Stephanopoulos confronted him with the graphic video of the pastor in full “Great Whore” glory. But Mr. McCain didn’t have to fear so rude a transgression. Mr. Hagee’s videos have never had the same circulation on television as Mr. Wright’s. A sonorous white preacher spouting venom just doesn’t have the telegenic zing of a theatrical black man.

Here’s the thing — if Obama complains about it he gets put off message, and is portrayed as whiny and effete.  But if he strikes back aggressively, then he’ll get tagged as “angry black man.”  Guy’s gotta thread the needle like John Stockton.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand.  Just wanted to share some sweet sanity from Big Show alumnus, Keith Olbermann.  Keep this in mind, as the pundits keep parroting Clinton talking points about “big states” and “why can’t Obama close the deal?”, all the while ignoring that Obama has had to run against two candidates (Clinton and McCain) and has had no help from the DNC that’s trying to appear neutral, or the “journalists” that have been propping up this soap opera to keep themselves busy from covering actual issues.

If I’m whining, it’s alright.  I’m fine with being portrayed as whiny and effete.

If Pennsylvania is Pittsburgh & Philly with Alabama in between, Indiana is Pennsylvania without any cities.

Plus far more “Operation Chaos” Republicans (the few groups da Billary can still count on for support).

If the Dems allow da Billary to steal this nomination, they deserve to lose the White House, the Senate, and the House — and they probably will get that trifecta.
